Ukraine and Poland are willing to give Impetus to the Work of the Ukraine-Lithuania-Poland Interparliamentary Assembly

 

Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and Bogdan Borusewicz, Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, made this statement after their meeting.

 

V.Lytvyn stated that the Parties were willing to coordinate the work of the Assembly in part of activization of work of its committees and observance of the commitments.   

 

He stated that the next sitting of the Assembly was scheduled for March, 2011.

 

B.Borusewicz stated that the Assembly was ‘an exceptional institution´, as it included two European Union member states, whereas Ukraine was an important European country willing to access the EU. He also briefed on the informative conversation regarding common tasks in the preparation for EURO 2012.

 

V.Lytvyn and B.Borusewicz highly appreciated the results of the visit of Mykola Azarov, Prime Minister of Ukraine, to the Republic of Poland. According to B.Borusewicz, several proposals regarding bilateral cooperation have been raised.

 

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine invited B.Borusewicz to make an official visit to Ukraine. The Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland promised to make the visit by the end of the year.

 

As it was reported, on 7-8 of October, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stays with the working visit in the Republic of Lithuania and takes part in the sitting of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Senate of the Republic of Lithuania and Sejm of the Republic of Poland.
